    Fuel Quality

    Hi,
The link below sets out the Govt Regs for fuel in New Zealand.
Having a US 72 911 running on MFI, I was wondering if there is any vast difference in fuel quality/ Ethanol blend/ sulphur/Existent Gum mixtures between the 2 countries.
Content 8 is what is specified however we all are aware of the things Petroleum Companies get up to.

Interesting that you have a standard Federal regulation. In the states it is much more complicated, by state, municipality, county and who knows what else. Plus there are winter and summer blends too.

Yeah David, I myself was quite surprised to see that the blend is different as you head further south (cooler climate) through our country.
Im in Auckland which is in the North.
The main reason for my post is that my car appears [[smells]] to be running 'rich'.
I am getting it Co2 sniff tested next week but I am reluctant to alter my MFI mixture settings unless it is way out as she is performing like a dream.
Am looking forward to watching a good 'square off' against you guys in the Americas Cup Yacht race next week.

Now that is an expensive hobby!!
With the new fuels you need to run a bit more rich, not too much though.
