Questions about new batteries for '73 T Porsche 'Moll' batteries

I'm a long time lurker here.
I just bought two new Porsche dealer (Moll brand) batteries for a 1973 911T
They're different than those provided by dealers in the past. I'd gladly post a pic but don't see how.
First, they don't fit the boxes that the old design did fit in. I think this can be remedied by rotating them 90 degrees. I'm not too thrilled with that prospect but have
only given it a short look so far.
Second, they are dry. I've got to buy acid and fill them. No instructions are provided.
How much acid is needed ? Fill to what level ? Allow to sit for how long ?
Charge for how long ? At what rate ?
Any insight is appreciated. Especially from personal experience.
    TIA
    Rory

    Try this: http://www.moll-batterien.de/en/downloads/

    Under: "Testing & safety"
    - "warning notes and safety regulations for lead-acid batteries | English"
    - 2. Commissioning

There may be more info?, I didn't read all that was offered.

    Good luck!

Don't know what those incorrect batteries cost you, but you can get correct fitting gel-type batteries that fit the boxes, the cables, and the original positive post protector fits. And you won't have rusted out front suspension pans. Hope you figure out how to post pictures, would love to see what these gems look like. (someone had to show me how to post pictures!)

If they don't fit I would take them back to the dealer who sold them before adding acid.
Originally when the dealers sold Varta or Porsche branded batteries, the batteries came with a container of acid to add. (the good old days)
Do what Ed says, abandon wet batteries and get yourself a set of gels. Expensive, but cheaper than a front pan replacement.

    Ed & David,

Which brand gel batteries are you using? Time to update my current lead-acid ones.

The Sonnenschein ones from Lauderdale Marine. The case is an exact duplicate of the correct battery shape and size, no funny business needed with creative carpentry, wire length, baling wire etc. The original rubber positive post protector also fits. The only caveat is to not let them totally discharge. For a non-daily driver you need to use a 24/7 battery maintainer. With that mine have lasted 7/8 years.

So they do fit, looks a little tighter than the originals.
