    Seat year and color confirmation

    Hi,

I have done quite a lot of studies but would still like to hear confirmation before I will start the restauration that these are 1965 seats? Do they happen to be "rehbraun" -color? Thank you!

I think they are (light) beige. Rehbraun is darker reddish brown and I think a 356 color describtion anyway.
Im no specialist for seats but the lack of headrest holes indicate they could be 65, 66 or 67

Those are 65 seats but they have been recovered in a non original material and color.

Thank you sirs! I have been unable to find what kind of original rehbraun looks, this was my older ´65s interior color according to Kardex. Would there be any photos available anywhere?

I personally don't know what Rehbraun/fawn upholstery looks like but there's discussion in an old thread that recently got bumped in this forum: Interior color codes.

Rehbraun/fawn was a late 356 color (code K) and it seems early 1965 911s used late 356 interior colors. I've seen photos of a green interior in an early 911. You can download Porsche's own document scans from http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...icaldocuments/.

Alas, I don't see 356C interior color samples. You might ask Autos International, Autobahn Interiors, or maybe Willhoit Restoration.

By the way, late 356B, 356C, and early 911 seats which had leatherette inserts (as opposed to corduroy or Pepita Check) had perforated leatherette inserts and perforated leatherette seat backs.

This is limited help, but it's the only period color photo I have of an early 911 with an interior that could be either beige or Rehbraun/fawn.

While it's clearly a 1965 Porsche 911, the brochure isn't dated (it's a Porsche of America brochure). That looks like the infamous "high" engine grill on the 911 and there's also a photo of a painted-dash 912 so it's fairly early.

Beige and Rehbraun/fawn could be the same (or not)--the terms aren't used in the same brochure.

so a `64 911 with leatherette / pepita seats did not have the perforated seat backs?--right?

That's my belief, but I don't have direct proof, like period photos of the backs of seats with Pepita inserts. Were I really trying to prove that, I might ask pss (Jacques) or that that moito guy in Austria...

Good information! There is no letter at all in my Kardex so that probably means full leather? Paint has K/P? Baliblau was also old 356 color I believe?
