    1967 911S engine Cowl Colour?

    Hi,

I have read through a lot of threads regarding the red engine cowl colour so I think I know:

It has no original paint code as it was a Gel Coat

The colour changed to a brighter red in the 70's (maybe Guards Red)

My cowl has been painted in the past so I am looking for the best colour paint match, any information would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

AFAIK it is not painted or gel coat as such. A Rit liquid dye may work.

The color changed to a brighter red in 68. The 67 color is darker by comparison to all later red shrouds.

Find a paint store or a body shop to do a color match . A flattening agent should be added to the paint . Painting should be done as a last option in my opinion .
