I am selling this car for a customer. He bought the car about a year ago from a dealer in Northern California called Dusty Cars. The car has a COA that shows it is a numbers matching car but no service history. The car is showing 85,000 miles on the odometer and this looks to be original mileage by the overall condition of the car which is excellent. There are no signs of rust and no signs of any accident damage. This car still has its original Mechanical Fuel Injection and after a major service and correction of injection pump timing the car is a joy to drive. Starts right away, hot or cold - great throttle response from idle to Redline. This is an extremely original car that has been repainted in it original color of Gemini Blue many years ago, original paint is still present under the hoods and in the door jambs. The paint looks great from as close as 3 feet away but if you get 6 inches away you can see some minor paint flaws in areas, but overall this car could be driven and parked at any Cars and Coffee event with pride. The interior of this car is wonderful, it takes you back in time. The dash is original and in beautiful condition, the carpets are German Square weave and they have never been out of the car. The interior is ready for you if you want to sit down and remember what these cars were like in 1972. There are alot more pictures on my website: www.orbitracing.com . The engine does not look like it has ever been opened, runs well, but has a small drip near the rear main seal area. The 915 gearbox shifts great and feels as if the synchros have been replaced, the shifts are very positive in every gear and there are no strange noise coming from the gearbox during operation. Everything works: horns, turn signals, brake lights, wipers, etc. The exterior of the car is all original and the condition of the trim is very nice. The rubber is still in good condition which is probably due to being from Northern California.
If you are looking for an original 1972 911 T Targa I don't see how you could do any better than this one. It is an absolute pleasure to drive and alot of time has been spent doing little clean-up and maintenance jobs. My customer is selling the car because he needs to have a car with Air Conditioning, or more exactly, his wife does not want to drive around in a car without AC. Please ask any questions and they will be answered honestly.
