    16" wheels on a 911 S LWB

I bought a set of 6J and 7J 16s just for the 6's. I bought one more 6J that was perfect, then the other that was advertised as a 6J, turned out to be a 7J.

So being the impatient person I am, as the car is running perfect, I was thinking about running 205/55/16 all the way around. The 7Js would just be spread it a bit more. This would help the weight bias? And fit under the stock fenders with out a BFH mod? I remember Richard Newton doing to this on his I think, and I never asked him about it, RIP.

    Thanks!

I am running 215-50 -16 Dunlop Direzza's on my 71 Targa, mounted on 6 x 16 refinished SC wheels. The Dunlop has a bit of an extension at the bead to set the tires to a wider profile as well. Some like them on early cars, some don't, I do. I also have same wheels finished by Al Reed on my 66 912 coupe on 205-55 16's

    Regards

The 6x16 will work fine, same offset as the 6x15. The 7x16 will be a problem in the rear (same offset... outward as a 7x15), requiring either luck or lots of negative camber on a narrow body car to prevent rubbing (or an elevated posterior, that works too).

You can refinish the 16's to get a different look. I had Al Reed do these around 2010. He said he had never been asked to do this at that time. I had him just paint the flat area between the spokes and don't go up the outer rim. These are on my SWB car. 195/55/16's on 6X16's.

I don't get it . If you want 16's why not get an SC ? I think they just look wrong on an early car .

More tire choices to choose from. I've had my car at vintage Porsche events and nobody even noticed they weren't 15's.

Personal preference of course, but I disagree. I think the 16's fill the wheel wells better, 15's look to small to me. If I was doing a concours car, then of course 15's but I prefer the 16's for a driver / hot rod.

Better tire selection for 16's and size difference doesn't really pop out.
