Thumbs up 356 Club Concours - Sat. July 22 !

    Folks,

This is the old Dana Point Concours but in a different location... Huntington Beach
    http://356club.org/event/dana-point-concours/

Jeff Trask insures me there will be an area for our Early 911s with a $20 fee at the gate just like before....

The map is on the site.... 18000 Golden West St., take the Talbert Ave. 'Central Library' turn in ... there will be signs...

Event Address is 7111 Talbert Ave. Huntington Beach, CA

Jeff says the Early 911 display load-in will be between 8-8:30...

Jeff is having some health issues and will not be attending.... Good thoughts for a speedy recovery Jeff

This is a GREAT yearly event........

    Cheers,
    ESR

This now just in from Jeff Trask:

356 Club of So Cal Huntington Beach Show July 22, 2017
The 31st Annual 356 Club’s Concours is upon us!
On July 22nd, 2017 the Porsche world will converge on Huntington Beach’s Central Park, California for the largest “356-only fully-judged concours” in the world.
Join us for this special event in our new location for 2017, Central Park in Huntington Beach!

Address: 7111 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92648

As in the past, a panel will pick the best 911 and 912 of the day. Not full judging, but a panel of experts that know what they are doing. So wash you car and have a 20 dollar bill handy and come join us like you have in the past at a brand new location in Huntington Beach! Rock star parking corrals for all early 9 series cars.

Once again, the 356 Club of Southern California is inviting the Porsche community to be a part of it. As is the custom, any Porsche can come and display on the grass with the 356’s to be judged. It is amazing to see the 400 plus Porsches that come out in support of the concours competitors – it is one of the best displays of Porsches to assemble at any time!
The 356 Club of Southern California invites you to bring your 356 to be judged. Once again, all registration will take place online. Below, you will find the link for the registration. There are nine classes including the “Unrestored” class. If you just want to come and enjoy the day, bring your 356 and park on the lawn with the serious competitors and picnic with all the other owners by your car.

There will be two food trucks and a pizza truck onsite if a picnic in the park is not your thing.

    Schedule:

    Saturday July 22d

6:00 AM Judged car placement begins
8:30 AM All Porsches (912 and 911) welcomed on the lawn to park
    9:00 AM Judging begins
    11:30 AM Lunch served
    1:00 PM Award presentation

    Thumbs up

Very good show in a very nice venue......

Thanks to Jeff Trask and all that put this together...

Jeff, we missed'ya parking us in just the right place... but it all came off just fine....

BTW- In the last pic the white haired gentleman looking at the 904 kit (w/3.6) is Haig Altoonian...
Mr. Altoonian was McQueen's personal race mechanic, and went on to work for Gurney and other big race shops though the years....... In the latest movie he tells of McQueen presenting him with his Heuer for keeping him alive...

    Cheers,
