    Oil tank paint

    Next service I am wanting to remove my oil tank to flush, ultrasonic clean and re paint it.
    Being Copper coated is there any specific coating that is required (( ie compatibility with Cu ))

    Some people are powder-coating pieces like this. I sent my tank out (here in the USA) to an airplane service company because I wanted to be sure it was absolutely clean and free of any contaminates. They offered painting or powder-coating. I had my oil tank painted.

    It is my understanding that with painting copper, it is best to first used an etching primer. Some use an etching epoxy primer. Before painting be sure to lightly rough up the surface to ensure paint adhesion.

    send it to Pacific Oil Cooler, they do a perfect job and are reasonable
