    Installing rivets/door pockets hinges ?

    Name: IMG_3506.jpg
Views: 386
Size: 69.2 KBI am trying to install the plastic hinges and rivets . All part of the SM kit.
I have used my tool in past but it does not seem to be able to pull the rivet to a flat position.
See photo of the rivet position and tool.
Is there a different hand tool, who has been successful and process?
    Thanks for assistance

Hey Frank, a regular POP rivet would do it I would think? Is that SM kit, the CarPoint kit or is it one they have sourced on their own.?

On that soft material you should use an aluminum washer on the rivet. Also don't do it in one pull, use several shorter pulls and reseat your tool at each pull.

So tired to install from both sides of pocket not catching both sides ...it will only catch one side pulls them the other side.
I believe the rivet should be longer so as it's pulling it will be getting fatter as it approached the washer so it will catch.
Has anyone used the SM kit and how did they get the rivets installed in hinges for front pocket. Not ready to attack the rear flip pocket yet.
    Thanks for assistance

We've done a bunch of these with no issues. If you'd like, shoot me a PM and I can get you on the phone tomorrow with the guy at my shop who's been doing them.
