    This car was bought in December of 2016 from a member of this registry. In the link below there is a very good description in the original ad of all the work that was done to the car before it was purchased.

    We were very happy with the car as quite a lot of time and money had been spent. Currently this 1971 Metallic blue 911 has a 1970 911 2.2 T engine and an early magnesium case 915 gearbox.

    Originally Sepia Brown
    No evidence of rust or accidents

    ENGINE:

    PMO 40 carburetors
    Fresh top end, new valve guides and valve springs
    Engine sheet metal stripped and powder coated black
    Rebuilt CDI box from Partsklassik
    Rebuilt distributor from Partsklassik
    New CDI wiring harness and ignition transformer
    Carrera front oil cooler, thermostat and lines

    GEARBOX:

    Magnesium Case 915 Gearbox
    Completely disassembled
    New synchros, new Pinion shaft four point bearing, new differential bearings
    All new gaskets and seals
    Pinion depth, backlash, etc., set with Porsche factory tools by mechanic with 30 years gbox experience

    SUSPENSION:

    Aluminum Carrera Rear trailing arms
    Carrera rear trailing arms
    Carrera aluminum front crossmember
    All suspension bushings replaced, mostly with Elephant racing products
    New, bigger torsion bars, 25mm front and 30mm rear
    New wheel bearings

    INTERIOR:

    New headliner
    New Dash
    Later model seats covered in leather
    Complete interior refurbished

    SUMMARY:

    There is a lot to say about this car but the bottom line is that it is a lot of fun to drive. It is not an original car but there has been a lot of time and effort to make the car reliable and good to look at. The foundation of this car is very solid and somebody could drive the car as is or make changes to suit personal taste.

    40mm PMO carbs that have just been gone thru

    Brand New ignition system from Partsklassik

    Top End just rebuilt: new guides and valve springs

    Engine resealed, case not opened.

    Undercarriage

    The bottom of the car is in great shape, all original undercoating underneath. When the car was painted a good effort was made to paint the bottom of the car but some areas were not prepped properly and the metallic blue paint is flaking off in a few areas showing the original Sepia Brown.

    Bottom of engine

    Engine has no major oil leaks, the typical drop off a valve cover. Exhaust is in good shape. Nothing to hide, just a good running 2.2 911 T engine that would probably show around 130 HP at the flywheel. We replaced the oil return line, the oil supply line, cleaned everything up, replaced alot of hardware - the end result is seen in the picture.

    Still for Sale

    After a couple of weeks of waiting for a deposit and countless conversations it happens that the "buyer" is no longer a buyer...

    So, back on the market. This is a very honest car, no old 911 is perfect but this one has very little to hide.
