SOLD!!! 65-66 Porsche 911/912 4-screw horn grill: PRICE REDUCED

    SOLD!!!

    PRICE REDUCED TO $125!!!

Selling this very nice 4-screw horn grill for a friend, which was recently unearthed from long-term storage. Correct for the earliest 911/912 Porsches (65-66).

The chrome is in excellent shape.

Look closely at the photos to determine its condition, but it appears that the middle rung of the grill is slightly deflected, which will probably require straightening. We have attempted to set a price with the imperfections in mind @ $125, plus shipping. (Add paypal fees if using paypal.)

There are 5 different sizes of the early grills according to the fitment of the fenders to the front hood.
These are marked with number from 1 to 5 with the additional stamp F V O, or just a = in the middle bar.
They where taken out of a box, reworked to fit precisely in the process of manufacturing the car.

So there could be cars with a 3 on the drivers side and a 5 on the passenger a.s.o

    .....

    with best regards

I'll be da**ed! I learned something new! Thanks Haul!

Okay, for most of my friends, the concept of me "learning" something will be greeted with derision. (Half of my friends will say that it's easy for me to learn, because I know so little. The other half will suggest that, even if I did 'learn' something, if we wait 10 minutes, it will be lost again.) But maybe by writing this down on Early S, I can preserve what I think I learned....

So, 'Haul' in Bavaria began asking questions about the details of this 4-screw horn grill, specifically about "sizing stamps on the back." I had noticed no such things, but to shorten this story a bit, I have now found both of the stamps that Haul had mentioned. On opposite bottom corners, there is an "FO" stamped inside a "V" in one corner and in the other corner there is a "4," exactly as 'Haul' had suggested.

Of course, now I am compelled to confront the fact that I have no idea what those marks mean, but over a lifetime, I have learned to live and be blissful with ignorance. Hopefully, my gratification with learning will be accompanied by a sale for my friend.

    Thanks, Haul.
