    911l lsd?

How do I tell if my 1968 911L sportomatic has a LSD or not?

Early car manufacture date November 1967.

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks in advance

Jack up car in rear, rotate a rear wheel, while doing that have a friend try to hold the other wheel, if he can you don't have a LSD.

I don't believe that a limited-slip differential was an option for a 905 Sportomatic, and I'm not aware of one that was or is a direct fit.
Differentials were not interchangeable between Sportomatic and manual transmissions.

I thought I was being civil?

Good thing I didn't post what I wanted to say.

At the time, many people ordered limited-slip differentials for better traction in poor driving conditions, and not for sports or racing purposes.
Even so, I've never seen a factory reference for a 905 Sporto LSD.

The consensus is that the |10 stamping means that the trans is fitted with an LSD --- which coincides with the CoA for this car . . .

I agree with Jon; there was no LSD for the Sporto trans.

Uli, did a 911R have a stock production Sporto transmission with an off-the-shelf LSD? You tell us...

For a special application, it might be possible to modify an existing LSD to fit a Sporto, or modify a Sporto ring gear, or have a special LSD housing made to fit a Sporto.
That's all assuming that there was a 911R with a basic production Sporto and an LSD.

Do you have a reference from a factory manual, parts catalogue, bulletin or sales brochure that an LSD was an option for a Sporto transmission in 1968?
Can you point us to a source for an aftermarket 905 Sporto LSD?
