Would it be neat if they used the old IMSA requirements applied to the 911 (maintain the stock 911 wheelbase, front and rear overhangs and stock roofline)? To me, it would make for a much more interesting "Stock Car" series.

Yeah, I thought the Camaro introduction was comical too I'm no NASCAR hater. But my god this series reeks of desperation. I've seen a couple of races on TV this year and the attendance looks lower than an Indycar race. And now they've taken to borrowing terminology from other sports. The races now consist of "stages" - stolen from rally racing but making no sense whatsoever. These are not stages, they're non-stop laps around the same circuit, just like it's always been. Then they constantly refer to "making the playoffs". Playoffs? As if this is somehow making fans think this is akin to the NFL, MLB, or NBA? Playoffs are when teams compete and get eliminated (as in 'season over') with the last team standing winning. With NASCAR, it's the same teams and same drivers all the way to the end. Nobody goes home. It's just a points game like it always has been. NASCAR would be better served to go back to their roots, embrace it, and stop trying to be something they are not. Racing on the beach in Daytona would be a good start

The race cars look and run a little better in the Trans Am series.
TA cars are lighter, bigger rims/tires, better suspension and similar V8 power as the Nascars.
Trans Am does not use the Nascar race stages or have competition yellows.
TA3 has the more factory appearing cars.
I'm fine with the wacky shapes of the trans am cars.
