73s rocker cover and end caps ?????

So I have all new rocker covers, deco rubbers and end caps. I thought the deco rubber went under the end cap but when trying to install the end caps there is no way the deco strip will fit under the cap. You end up butting up the deco rubber against the cap to make the cap fit the rocker cover which doesn't look right to me? Anyone have pics of original or advise? Thx

If you purchased new deco rubber pieces, they should have arrived (at least from PORSCHE) with each end 'baloney' sliced...about a 45 degree angle so that about 1/2 of that angle cut fits into the end caps...at least that's the way it was when new and/or properly restored.

Ok that is what's wrong then. I just didn't remember them being cut down before going under the end cap. Thx
