    You should narrow down your year preferences if you want a working speedometer and axle output flanges that will mate up with your current axles.

    What Jim said, plus the R&P changed from 7:31 to 8:31 in 75, so the gearing is different. In 76 the factory went to an electric speedo which would require a different instrument in addition the R&P. You should look for a 72-74 tranny.

    Thanks for the info. I could deal with either gear ratio, but I should have the correct speedometer drive. My current axles have the four bolt flange on the transmission rnd, when did that end? If needed, I have both the 4 and 6 bolt axles on hand. In the end, I'm trying to turn a roller into a potential driver with a now missing transmission.

    PM sent. I have a couple of trannys to choose from. Fresh with 7:31 R&P and new internals.

    Thanks for all the offers of rebuilt units or basket cases. I'm looking for a trans for limited use as-is, on a smaller budget.

    Not many 45 year old transmissions that don't need work. No more quick fixes, most need comprehensive overhauls.
