    Fuel+oil level gauge change 1972

try to figure out the date/VIN when the change of the small combi gauge 911.641.202.00 to 911.641.202.01 was.

I´m shure MY 73 had the new gauge without the numbers for the oil level.

PET says 1972 on, but I have seen several MY72 (up till 11/71) with the old gauges 911.641.202.00.

would the changeover time between gauges coincide with the change of oil tank capacity from the older D series to the side tank on the E series ?
I always thought they were slightly different sizes - just a guesstimate .....

    Dennis,

yes, that was my first thought also. But having two early Ölklappen, which show both the old gauges and have seen a dozend 72 911S or S-optined E/T on meetings the last years with the old gauge, made me doubt about the MY72 change that PET states.
