    69T that won't start

Hi have been away from the forum for a while and having trouble getting my car to start.
I had the compression numbers checked last year by a mechanic who has experience with these cars.
I thought the numbers were a little low.
    1. 100psi 2. 100psi 3. 100 psi 4. 98 psi 5. 90 psi 6. 100 psi.
A leak down test wasn't done and the car was running fine when it left the shop last year.

The car has always burned oil and figured a rebuild was inevitable but would the low compression prevent the car from starting?
I found the one accelerator jet wasn't working too well so I removed the carbs and cleaned all the tubes and they seemed to be working well.
I reinstalled the carbs today and still won't start.
The battery is a little old but was boosting with a larger battery with little success.
Stumped, any help would be appreciated.

Could be an ignition problem . Have you checked for a spark ? Checked the points gap or dwell ? Check the ignition timing also .

I don't think low compression should prevent the car from starting - 90 psi is getting down there - that's about 6.1:1 CR, but that shouldn't be low enough to prevent it from firing. If you are getting nothing, then I would go with a spark problem too. If you pull a plug and the plug is wet, means you have fuel and no spark.

I had an odd thing when getting my 69 going earlier this year - the center button on the distributor cap was pushed it and stuck so it wasn't making contact with the rotor. Took me probably 2 days to figure that out. But I Was getting no spark whatsoever.

I did have an issue with the wire from the coil to the distributor and changed the wire.
I'll have to get some help with checking for spark. I'm going to get some proper cranking amps as well the battery is a little tired.
Talked to a mechanic at a PCA event yesterday and had similar suggestions.
Thanks for the feedback I'll let you know how I make out.
