    Help on this connector

Does anyone know what this connector on the heat exchanger connects to? Does it connect to the heater box? Thanks

    Lightbulb

It connects to a matched 'connector' directly above it at the bottom of the left side engine sheet metal... the top side of the sheet metal has a wide wire screen over the open pipe.... Looks like you have mismatch between your heat exchanger and sheet metal...

This is what my '73 looks like from the bottom....

    Hope this helps,

The heat exchanger in your pix is late 73.

I think this is the 2.4 MFI LHS heat exchanger where in the short snorkel inlet thermo-flap inlet is used.

Tom, that is the mid year 73 exchanger, someone has to have a 72/ early 73.

Its confusing because many who offer the MFI one for sale show the short snorkel as well

That's so they don't have to stock TWO slow moving parts. For a 73 just attach hose and go, for a 72 just cap off the outlet. Unfortunately it's not 1972 anymore.
