Rick, I may ask some help from you with that, do you know anyone around from McNash Motors of that period? They may have something to tell about that car...
J.B. traded it to them for the blue one he mentioned after a small mishap:

They may also remember what happenend to the car after it's been fixed...

I'd love as well to find what could have been the grille badges ?

Hm. Sounds like a 'Zoll' plate --- temporary plates fitted to any car operating in Germany pending export

Hm. Never heard about Porsches not being 'officially imported' into the US, in '65 --- some of the oldest 911s in existance are here . . .

    https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...light=brundage

But AMAG is Porsche's exclusive Swiss Importer. Have you contacted them? . . .
    https://www.amag.ch/en.html

. . . because they would have records of any vehicle they've imported

Handler was P.C. Northeast, I guess he ordered the car from McNash and went to the factory for tourist delivery.
J.B. told me that he get to tour the car through Switzerland and Austria in the end of 65 before briging it back to the actory to be shipped to US in Jan 66.
I suppose that's why AMAG is mentioned on the Kardex for the 1st service...

So fender mounted mirrors that were normally dealer installed items were actually installed at the factory.

Wow, the roll over. That photo jogged my memory.
Pete Mcdowell, one of the owners of McNash Motors told me the story about 10 years ago.Unfortunately I was distracted in my office when he told me the story and I don't remember details. As I remember, Pete was the passenger in the car at crash time ! I believe he said the car was NOT towed from the scene, but driven back to Burlington.
McNash had their own body shop at the time and I am sure it was fixed there. I knew many people who worked there, but it has been over 50 years so many have passed away. Including Pete.
A friend of mine's father was the body shop manager there in the 70's, but I don't think he was working there in the late 60's. I have reached out to him to confirm this.
If I find out more info I will report back. Of course John could give you details if he chooses.

    Thank you Rick!
That's amazing to read about the story. I'll definitely ask more about it to John.

I'm now digging more into Burllington old newspapers and may have found the add from McNash to sell the car:

Thanks all for the cheer-ups !!

Here are a few more pics of the steps we took to try to replicate as close as possible the original factory painting process (sequence).
Lucas really went down the rabbit hole with masking steps and textures finishes (thanks to the ressources on this forum) :

All this has then been sprayed Irish green and recovered by a black coat...
