Unhappy Blowing fuse #6 parking light right. What's up?

Having just reinstalled rear license plate lights and replaced bulbs in front and rear turn signals after touch up paint, #6 parking light right 5A fuse has blown twice.
With new fuse, everything works BUT with park lights on, both filaments on the left side front light up and don't flash when turn signal activated. All others are fine. With park lights off, left turn signal works OK.
When blown, right side park lights don't work (expected) but turn signals don't work either.

Checked license plate wiring and is correct. All bulbs are correct wattage.

Can somebody suggest where should I start? Running out of 5A fuses. I HATE auto electrical problems!

Since the problem is likely related to something you just did,,,,undo eveything you did, then start reinstalling one at a time until the fuse burns again, you'll have found your problem

Thanks Ed. Some fuses must die to allow others to live ..... longer! will tackle this shortly and report back.

What style lights do you have? Euro or US? I cant tell from your small pic in your user profile.
Check the install of your front bulbs, and the condition of the bulb holders. may be shorting across the contacts or earthing through the indicator circuit?
    Good luck

    Hi Reuben,
I have H4s. Actually I did remove those too! Thanks, another good lead to follow.
Been a while since I've visited Wellington.
    Cheers

It is the license plate lights. Seems that something is grounding against the inside of the lid. Checked wiring and shrink tubed all spade terminals. Perhaps the light housing? Didn't have the problem before because I had a Fibreglass ducktail fitted. Put the original lid back on, first time in 44 years, and 911 is rebelling. Guess I can try insulating the housings. Can't see where it could be contacting metal.

You might have the power and ground leads reversed on the light units, easy to do.

Grey wire to center pin of socket. Check with a meter.

Thanks guys - I thought that too, as the wires get dirty under there and the grey one looks brown. Checked with test lamp - power to base of bulb so ruled that out.
Anyway - covered both housings (very neatly I might add) with insulating tape, shortened the screw that hovers above the positive terminal when securing the light to the lid. And pleased to report the problem is now sorted. Everything works as it should and fuse is intact. Thanks for your suggestions.
