'. . . The extensive restoration of this 1972 911S is now completed and the car is offered for sale. This 911S is a full matching numbered car, retaining its original sport seats, gearbox, Fuchs wheels and 85 ltr long range plastic fuel tank, all of which have been fully restored to their original specification.
The list of works undertaken is extensive, but in short the car was fully stripped and restored back to its former condition . . .
History
This car left the Porsche factory on 1st May 1972 and was first registered in Germany on 9th June 1972.
The early history of this 911S is limited, but by 1995 the car was owned by Siggi Brunn of Brunn racing, www.brunnracing.com. Siggi has been building and racing cars all over the world and came 6th in the Le Mans 24 hour race in 1986 in a car prepared by his own team.
This car was purchased in the name of his wife Dr Gertraud Brunn-Pfeiffer. In 1996 the car took part in the Tour de France Auto event competing against several RSs and still has the FIVA (Federation Internationale des Vehicules Anciens) certificate. The car was driven in that event by Theo du Toit and Johan Sweigels from South Africa.
In 1997 the car was bought from Siggi and his wife and imported to the UK by David Dugdale (who also drove in that Tour de France even and maybe where he first saw the car).
The present owner Mr Rose bought this 911S in 1999 with a mileage of 49k km. It has since remained in the same ownership for 17 years. This rare 911S was loved and cherished in Windsor until 2006, during which time the car was always garaged. It was driven and enjoyed and photos of the car can be seen several family photos, copies of which are contained within the history file. During this time the 911S was looked after by a family friend and motor enthusiast, Rob Ost.
From 2006 to 2014 the car was garaged in Englefield Green near Windsor, and then in West Ruislip in Southwest London. During this period the car was driven fairly infrequently (probably less than 100km a year) coinciding with the birth of Mr Roses’s daughter. During this period maintenance was undertaken by Mike Pickup in London and Peter Tognola in Datchet.
Mr Rose took the car to the Dordogne and South of France in 1999 for a couple of weeks and has had several trips to the Le Mans 24 hour race from 2000 through to 2003. It has also had plenty of outings in the UK, particularly to Wales on a number of occasions. By 2014 Mr Rose realized the car was being used less and less and subsequently decided to have the car completely restored with the aim of preserving this rare 911S. He decided to embark on a full restoration project to bring the car back to its beautiful original factory condition. Since then Canford Classics has undertaken a full nut and bolt restoration of the car . . .'
