    FS: 2002 Boxster S

I have too many cars and there's not enough hours in the day to drive them all, so I'm starting to tidy things up and let some stuff go.

    Here are some highlights:
    • 2002 Boxster s 6-speed
    • Purchased from a client, the daughter of the original owner
    • Lots of records
    • New clutch
    • New Brakes
    • New Tires
    • New Top
    • Late OEM IMS bearing with seal removed for splash oiling
    • Services up to date

The car was originally purchased by my client's father. It is a CA car from new. He drove the car for about 50K miles and then lost the IMS bearing. The motor was replaced by an independent shop in Ventura, CA with a factory crate motor (invoice included in records). The car currently has about 115K miles on it which means the replacement motor has about 60Kmi on it. The car was purchased by my client from her father and she used it for a few years as a periodic club racer before a divorce forced the sale. I purchased the car about a year or so ago and in my care it received a clutch, OEM short shifter, brakes, tires, new top, and a new bluetooth compatible radio (the original one started misbehaving). The car was originally ordered with the BOSE audio package so the speakers are all original and still sound great. Overall the paint is pretty good - some A hole in a parking lot scuffed the RR bumper/fender - and the car has been stone reliable since I got it.

    Here are the negatives:
    • Shocks are getting tired ... not totally dead but could benefit from replacement
    • Second gear is starting to show its age ... sometimes, when it's cold, engagement can be tricky
    • Airbag light is lit ... a leftover of when the car had a race bucket installed for track days

Overall this is a solid driver - it's reliable, inexpensive to run, up to date on maintenance, and it's an S.

I'm asking $10,000. Let's make this car disappear.

I bought Marco's last Boxster he had for sale, and I've been very pleased. He did a lot of great work to it while he owned it, and he also did an engine upgrade to a 2.9 and it's been a perfect daily driver for me. Personally think Boxster's are very underrated for bang for the buck.

    KBB? Hahahahahahahaha!!!

Nobody uses their valuations anymore. NADA is the industry standard now, and even their values are skewed in favor of dealers and trade-ins. That whole “suggested price” thing is a total racket.

That said, if you don’t want to pay my asking price then feel free to make a reasonable offer. Ebay auction starts tonight...
