    Restore engine grill (silver)

I want to restore my silver engine grill and have the horizontal lines straight again.
They are being reproduced and offered for sale, like here http://www.karmannkonnection.com/sho...ill-911-68-69/

However does anyone have experience restoring one? I think disassembling might not be the biggest problem, but building it together again can be a challange. I wonder if all the materials are available today.

    Thanks in advance.

What material are you thinking of? The bars are bright dip anodized. take it apart and see how it goes,,,worst case scenario is you'll have to buy the repro one. Take photos so you can guide others!

I had one where the bars were very much out of shape (non parallel), but otherwise in good shape and had not been kinked. Careful one at a time bending restored factory appearance.

There are some threads around, Shaun Budka at tru6 has started restoring these, it seems like a monumental task to restore them to factory appearance. Here’s his website. http://tru-6.com
