    Researching '68 Normal rebuild

    Hi all-

I'm beginning the restoration of my '68 Normal SWT and would appreciate thoughts on what to do with the engine. It is numbers matching and appears original (none of the repair documentation going back to the late 70's lists major engine rebuild).

There are a lot of threads in the forum on building up hot-rod engines and RS clones, but my goal with this project is to stay relatively stock and to make it fun around town and in the twisties. I built a "Stump-Puller" 356 engine for my old '63 Coupe that was awesome in traffic. Has anyone gone this route with a 911 Normal or am I totally off-base?

Any threads in this forum or reference links in the Bird or elsewhere are appreciated! Thank you in advance!
    Cheers,

    Ron

Ultimately after debating a displacement increase, etc. I went with a perfectly stock appearing motor, with only 9,5:1 pistons and Dougherty supercup 104 cams, oil bypass mod, piston squirters and an SC oil pump.

a 68 softie is such a unique car-- I would keep it original (looking)

i plan to install 2.2 E P/C on my 68 SWT when it's that time. tweak the stock carbs and just enjoy. SWT is a cruiser, not a carver.
