    1973 Rear lense colour

    Hello,

my wife´s Targa needs a repaint. The paint includes also small bodywork, like lense to body areas.

The Targa is MY73 US 8/72 delivered.

Due to German law, we are not allowed to drive our cars with US lenses/headlights over here.

I bought a pair rear light lenses that had been offered as 73 US.

When I mounted them I recognized that the red parts tint differs.

Is the right or left one correct?

Both have identical BOSCH, Porsche, numbers.
I guess one of them is a post 73 lense.

The right side is correct. Something caused the left one to change, they didn't come that way.

    Thanks Ed,

the car came with EURO rear lenses. I bought the lenses, sold as US 73s and mounted them.

    Cheers

Euro lenses are yellow or amber . Why are these red if German law requires European lenses ?

    Hi Richy,

I know how Euro lenses look like very well.
Just want all the parts that the car was delivered with.

Believe all US rear tail light lenses are identical (including color) except for the part number that changed from DOT 72 to DOT 77.
