1967 front screen tinted or plain?

Hi I'm about to order a new screen for my uk the 1968 S, and am wondering if the front screen should have a tint or be plain?

    Help please, thanks Rich

I think both were available, with tinted as an option.

Tinted glass was definitely an extra price option in 1968. Here's a list which I assume was posted here originally by Eric Linden. Tinted glass is option 9480, 9481, or 9482 on the third sheet:

    Tinted glass: 9480, 9481, or 9482, above.

By tinted, we assume you mean glass that is tinted across (within) the entire surface. Glass with a tinted "stripe" across the top (clear the remainder) is also available but was never original. What is the rest of your glass, tinted or clear? I'd choose based on that.

Thanks Jim, rest of glass is clear, the choice is for a tinted strip.

The other issue is the mirror mount on the new screen, certainly not correct, anyone know if this can be removed?

You should get the one without the mount. The mount can be removed by carefully heating the area under the mount to soften the glue. I've seen glass guys do that,,,,however you can just as easily get it too hot and soften the plastic between the glass layers,,,better to get the non-mirror mount glass.

Wasn't tinted strip across the top few inches a much later year thing?
