Thread: Exhaust bracket colour

    Exhaust bracket colour

    Help please

I was always of the opinion that for 72/73 cars the exhaust bracket that attaches to the engine mount had changed from silver to black

Anyone want to refute or confirm please?

I am talking about the small silver bracket in this pic as posted by SC Fanatic

    Hi, Clyde -

My vote for the exhaust clamp bracket is gray phosphate - high-heat application.

All original brackets I have seen are gray phosphate . I have never seen silver or black except on non-original engines .

If a photo helps in terms of the finish, this is a NOS one I have; afraid I don't know if they changed at any point?
