    European Delivery choices

I found a 1972 option sheet that Karim had kindly posted in another thread on rear spoilers. It shows the European Delivery options, ie pickup cities in Europe, as being
Germany: Stuttgart (911 only), Osnabruck (914 only), Cologne, Duesseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Munich
    Austria: Vienna, Salzburg
    Belgium: Brussels
    France: Paris
    Great Britain: London
    Italy: Rome, Bologna
    Netherlands: Amsterdam

Were other cities in Europe possible?
Did Porsche send cars by rail (AT, BE, FR, IT, NL) or boat (to GB)?

    Thanks, Karl.

As someone who works in the travel industry I was particularly interested in the info under item 6 - Airport Delivery Plan. The cost then to fly round-trip from New York to Stuttgart was $360... which is $2099 today. A quick search on Google flights shows that you can now buy that same round trip on several different airlines for less than $1000...1 airline was less than $800!!!

Porsche made extensive use of Boeing 707 pics in their PTD as well as ads, by chance i watched yesterday the history of the Boeing 707.
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8__rtimdCnA

As for the airfare, it was a factory offer and connected with german Lufthansa.
Buying the car through PTD was much cheaper than via US and the economy made payed for both the trip and airplane fare.
US dollar was back then a very strong currency, 4 US dollar to 1 DM and PTD price was for US clients only, which needed to pay in Dollar. Against today, Lufthansa received almost 4 times more for their services if a US customer payed his flight in US dollar.

The first year where airplanes were featured was 1968.
Here the full item (two cover design exists for this year, blue and red cover. Green cover is 1969)

I love this text in 3rd pic from bottom ... " if this is your first trip to Europe, we suggest that you try not to see too much. Limit your travel to but a few countries. Remember that while speed limits are mostly non-existent, mountainous terrain and occasionally heavy traffic make to difficult to drive more than 250 miles a day ... "
