    916 motors - 1967-1968

I am off on another retirement project and am curious as to the fate of these 4 cam motors.
All I know is what is in Karl's Excellence and they were used in 911 Rs briefly.
There was one of 10(?) for sale at Marco's Elevenparts a while ago.
Was this 916 motor used in the KMW 2 seaters of the early '70s ?
Maybe these motors should have been used in the 910s and 907s instead of the 2.2 flat eight.
    Pic from Elevenparts

    cheers

1970 914-6 - materialised from the 'Lotto' garage into reality
    1971 2.2 911 S - now back in the UK - sob!
1975 Carrera Targa (ROW) - missed.
One of us is fast becoming a valuable antique.
