Michelin XWX 205/70/15 - few questions

Anyone running these on the rear of their 911? Thinking about putting these on the rear with a 7in fuchs. My only concern is they may be a bit too tall. 185/70/15 on a 6in fuchs up front seems perfect but I'd like to run a staggered set of wheels and tires if possible on my 73.

go for the retro Pirelli CN 36s for those sizings - 185/70 f and 215/60 r.
the XWX are far too stiff in the sidewall and are made for heavier cars such as Daytonas,Boras and the big MBZ sedans of the day
I had 2 sets on a '74 911 S and lost several bumping noises after moving to the CN 36s.

    just my 02c

Did the 215/60/15 CN36 fit without rubbing on your 74? I wanted to run a set of my NB 74 911 with 7 inch Fuchs (not 7R) but think they might rub. Curious your experience?

My thoughts exactly, which is why I considered the Michelins.

I bought a silver anniversary 911S new in '75. One of the first things I did to it was to put 7's and 215/60-15's on the rear. Fit perfectly, although the '75 USA cars did have a higher ride height than previous years...

I also have 7” Fuchs on the rear of my 73S. I’ve always been told that 215/60’s won’t fit, even though my fender lips are rolled. I’ve used 205/60’s for years but the choices are pretty limited now. I’d like to get the CN36 in 185/70 but am worried that they will be stretched on the 7” rears and not look right, and that the 215/60’s won’t fit.

I run 185/70-15 XWX on 7's at all four corners and have been extremely happy. A stiff sidewall makes for better cornering. Mine is a lowered 73.

I’ve run 206/60/15 mounted to Fuchs 7” on the rear of my 73. They were fine until the rear was loaded up in a corner and they rubbed up higher in the well. Great way to burn the paint. Swapped them out.
I’d expect 215s to have even more of the same issue.

The 215's will work on a 7R but not a standard 7. The offset is the problem.

I run 7's all around, Pirelli P6000's, 215/60 in the rear and 185/70 in front. Tight fit in rear with 930 brakes and had to use 12mm spacers. Narrow body 72.
