El Chucho - the hot rod!

After a five-year love affair, El Chucho and I have decided to part ways as I feel it's time for a change. For me, the journey is all, the destination is an end point.

The car is going up for sale at Williams-Crawford for £54,995 (c. $73,500 US or 62,000 Euro), a fraction of what it would have taken to build, but then we all know how that works!

Started life as a black 912 built 15 November 1965, delivered to Sunset Porsche, Portland, Oregon, 15 August 1966.

Crankfire ignition with Cosworth V6 coil pack
    Lightweight rear engine mounting bar
    Powerflex engine and transmission mountings
Vintage Speed stainless-steel headers and sport muffler
Dyno figures: 205bhp at 6850rpm and 165lbft torque at 6700rpm

Built by Mike Bainbridge (MB Engineering)
    Five-speed magnesium cased 901/2 trans
    Custom Sway-A-Way heavy duty axles

    19mm & 24mm torsion bars
Weltmeister anti-roll bars front and rear

    Wow, that didn't take long.
So what's next? Have you seen (or bought) something else already?
    Good luck with the sale!

Good luck with the sale, Keith. As a fellow 912-6 owner, I truly enjoyed watching the build through your magazine.

Well, I have had the car for five years, on the road for over two - for me that's a lifetime in car ownership!
No plans for another project right now - still don't have a garage or workshop facilities of my own, which makes like difficult in that respect.
    Thanks!
