Valued Added Service Car Storage in MA

I'm pursuing opening a car storage business within the Western suburbs of Boston and would greatly appreciate the opinions (pros/cons) of Porsche owners living in and within the greater Boston area. The facility will be a secured, state of the art, valued added service (detailing & high end consignments)car storage where cars are charged with a battery tender, monthly startups, exterior cleaning and tire pressure monitoring along with a multiple camera system for owners to access from any internet-connected PC. There will be a members lounge area for fellow car enthusiasts to relax, tech sessions, charitable events, car club hosting events and cars and coffee.

Your planned offering sounds very much like several car storage facilities in Denver. The fact that there are several and that they've been around awhile suggests there is a market. I am not aware of any of them selling on consignment, but it certainly is possible.

Sounds like the current 'Luxsport' model in New Hyde Park, NY. Half the building is high end stuff on battery tenders, the other half is full of the turds the owner Lance Yudkin sells for inflated prices and often gets caught lying about. Lots of threads on PP and other mid / high end marque forums regarding Luxsport and Lance Yudkin's 'business practices'. The first thing you see on the way in is a lot of modern well kept cars, the consignment and sales stuff is in the next room. The difference in quality is staggering.

I'd advise being very honest and diligent with your consignment sales to avoid much of the negative press they get. That alone would make me never trust them with anything.

I think it is a great business plan (or an idea for a plan).

That said, I do not want anyone touching my car. I can handle the maintenance myself.

Good luck. I'd put out fliers to all car clubs for customers.
