    finishing trunk front area?

I have all the metal work completed in my front trunk.

It is a mild hot rod. So the front trunk will be exposed with no carpet. Spare tire, leather strap etc..

What is the general census on finishing the metal for paint? Seem seal it?

Epoxy primer. Seam seal where necessary! I’m an amature. I did this not too long ago and started with plain ol’ primer and changed over to epoxy; what a difference!! Much better.

There are numerous threads on here about that, try the search function.

As Cliff points out: Catalyzed epoxy primer on bare metal always (2 coats better than 1)! Then follow with whatever top coating you wish.

I would absolutely put SKS in the front trunk as the factory did. Since it's a hot rod you don't need to go as heavy but I do it like the factory but just not as heavy for a hot rod. For an original car it goes on as thick as the factory did. You'll need good pics or an original car to show you where to apply it.

PPG DPLF Anticorrosion primer. Don't make it pretty.
