WTB: Seat Belt Buckles dated 1968 or 1969

My buckles are a "bit" corroded. Especially the fronts. Can somebody help me with some better quality tongues for sale? No problem if not perfect. I will rechrome them. Or does somebody make any repros?

Something like this. The belts were partially under water for 5 years.

I want to restore them. I'll have a roll of the correct seat belt webbing, so i need new buckles and the restoration will be perfect.

How much would you ask for the belts?

I can send you a pair of tongues dated 1968. I could be wrong but I don't think any tongues were dated 1969. $50.00 for a pair plus shipping that will be cheap in the CONUS. If you are outside the US, I'll still ship them but will want $25.00 for my trouble plus the cost of postage.

    Regards

    Jim

I'm interested in buying a pair. Do you have maybe the rear ones with the same date also?

    Hi Jim,

I'll take a 2 pairs of '68 tongues if any left after Irogacs gets what he needs.

Not to highjack the thread here, but since you guys are going deep on ‘68 seatbelts, I’d love to ask you guys a quick question: What should the orientation be for the Porsche crest on the buckle portion of the seatbelt? Should they point outwards, downwards or upwards? Both emblems on my front seatbelts have fallen off and I want to glue them back on, but I just want to make sure that I put them back on pointing the right direction. The crests on my rear belts face outwards, but I have seen all different orientations when I’ve been googling and researching this.

Sorry for throwing this question out there in the middle of this thread, but I figure you guys are the right ones to know the correct answer! TIA for any thoughts on this

    Cees

BTW, here is a 1969 dated tongue from a rear seat belt. Not seen front 1969 dated either.

    Agreed

I've only seen the 1969 date stamp on rear belts. More trivia to clutter our brains....................

    Ciao

    Jim
