    Kolbenschmidt Bearings

In my hunt for std/std main bearings for my 71 build I came across some NOS Kolbenschmidt bearings. After reading a bunch of mixed reviews on glyco I have decided to go NOS. Does anyone have any information on the quality of these bearings? Thanks for any/all input.

In the 50 years of doing this stuff we have used both, generally at the whim of suppliers, sometimes there may have been a choice,,,,never really noticed any difference however. All I've heard about bearings in general is the absence of lead in the babbit lately, which may have a detrimental effect. I just took a 2.4 S motor apart with over 90,000 miles on the rod bearings,,,,,they could go right back in! I think they all work fine,,,,if you keep the right amount of oil on them.

Main bearing don't have issues like rod bearings. I also use both without concern. Gordon
