My car is missing it's tag, so this is tempting...

First off, is this specific to 1966?
Second, are there legal issues with replacing something like this?

What year is your 911T? From what I have observed, many cars have had this tag replaced. Thus, I can’t imagine any legal issues. Now, if you are appropriating a VIN that belongs to another chassis, that’s a whole other story.
