    1967 911 Front Struts

I have my front suspension completely disassemble ready to reassemble. I need to replace the struts and can't find what I should be looking for. The ones installed now are KYB 361004.
The car is 1967 911, VIN 307850, build 3/16/1967. Does anyone know which brand of struts I should be looking for?

    Don

PS: Updated "installed now" to correct KYB 361004, sorry for error.

Your car would have come with Boge struts or Koni struts. Koni were optional and were redish orange and Boge black or dark blue. The difference is the internal threads at the top of the strut. Koni has a finer thread pitch than Boge. The KYBs come with both fine and course thread retainer caps so they work in either strut. More than likely your car has Boge struts. Look at the part number and other markings on your strut. Koni makes their Classic series for either strut, 86-1394 for Boge strut and 86 1308 for Koni struts and Sachs also sells inserts for both Koni and Boge struts.

Whether you go with Koni (adjustable) or Boge, it certainly will be better than KYB!

True. Those KYBs raise up a 911 front end over an inch. They belong in the scrap metal bin.
