    1964-65-66-67 seats for sale

For sale is a pair of seats that are unique to a 67 911 although I ??think?? they can be used on all 65-68 911/912. They are great seats to restore to your interior color. They are complete with all knobs, and the cushions and bolsters are good.
The 67 seats on the drivers side don’t have a lock so backrest can be moved forward without having to unlock and the passenger seat does have a backrest lock.

The chrome on the hinges are original and the chrome is exceptional and don’t need to be rechromed, there is no blistering or flaking and I have not polished or waxed them.

These are $1,500 NOW $1,300. NOW $1,200 and shipping is included threw Greyhound Express to US 48 states, + PayPal fees, insurance. Prefer certified check. If interested I have many photos I can send.

    Hi Slcarr

I would be grateful for any comments from the seat police on these. The rear covers appear to be perforated. They don’t have headrests. The adjusters are on opposite sides. The plastic covers for the mechanisms look to be ivory. The centres are not basketweave but smooth vinyl. I’m confused by them and what model year they are appropriate for and if the covers are original. Is there a picture of the undersides?

I hope you don’t mind me asking for opinions. If you feel your for sale thread is violated by this please let me know and I will remove. I have very good reasons for asking as this colour vinyl doesn’t often come up for sale.

    Regards
    Mike

These are from a 67, I have a 67 911 that the seats are black if you want comparison photos.
The seat backs are perforated as are the center seat bottoms and back rests.
68 and earlier never had headrests other than aftermarket type that are round and have chrome brackets that are screwed to the back rest.
68 and earlier seats had the seat adjustment for back and forth on the outside, 69 and later are on the inside.
    67 did have ivory covers.

Maybe JIM from EASY can comment as I had questions about my seats in the 67 I have and he was very helpful for me to understand the difference in the right and left hinge mechanisms which are unique to a 67.

OK, here is my take on your seats. They are from a 65/66 due to the perforated upholstery that sure looks original to me. Porsche eliminated the seat back lock in 1963 for some unknown reason and didn't put it back on seats until the 68 model year. All of the seats had beige covers until the 68 model year when they switched to black. Those seats are virtually identical to any 67 or earlier seat except for the unique upholstery that is a carry over from 356B/Cs. Yes, the seat adjusting levers are on the outside on SWBs and switched to the inside on LWB cars. 68 is the only year SWB that had seat back locks on both seats and also the only year that had "D" shaped built-in headrests. I talking about cars that were meant for the USA. ROW cars are a whole different cup of tea.

    Regards

    Jim
PS: The seats look to be a very nice set of survivors.

Thanks for the replies. I too have a 67 with a tan interior and those seats are the exact same colour.
I knew about the headrests, the ivory covers, the levers and so on. What confused me was the perforated rear covers which mine don’t have. I’m sorry, I missed the fact that the centres weren’t smooth vinyl but also perforated. Jim has explained these are likely original pre-67 covers. There are only two surviving 67S Rhd cars in the world with a tan interior and I am in touch with the other owner. We have compared our seats and they are not the same and both are different from yours too. As Jim says this might be a US vs. ROW thing.

Did 67 seats all have basket weave centres in black or brown or cream or were any made with smooth vinyl like the bolsters.

    Sorry to hijack your thread.

    Regards
    Mike

Thank you Jim. Headrests on 68 were later production appearently. I thought by correspondence with you on my seats in 67 that the mechanisms were unique to 67 but appearently are not.

They had basket weave. The perforated upholstery disappeared early in 66 or late in 65

    Thanks Jim

I guess that makes my interior unique then as the centres are neither.

Thanks for allowing the discussion on your thread Slcarr.
