Reproduction Sporto Vacuum Servo Diaphragm on eBay

As I have "Porsche 911 Sportomatic" as one of my saved searches on eBay, I was interested to see this pop up. Someone has reproduced the vacuum servo diaphragm in silicone.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-74-Por...item2a9eb95d5c

The listing refers to a YouTube video on R&R of the vacuum servo using the repro diaphragm.

Is the maker and seller one of us? Has anyone else bought and installed one of these reproduction servo diaphragms? I'm not currently in need of one but this may prove useful in the future. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has bought and installed one and how it's worked out.

Hi, he's definitely on "the bird". He contacted me after seeing my posts on how rebuild servos.

He hand makes his. I have mine professionally made out of the same type of rubber as the originals. (The black one shown in his ebay listing is his original diaphragm.)

Thanks! You're on my radar now as well.

Given that you produce them in both nitrile rubber and silicone and test them prior to shipment, have you observed any differences in response between the versions?

No difference in response, that I have seen. Theoretically my professionally made silicone ones should last longer, but it's too early to tell yet. (After all, the originals usually lasted more than 30 years....)

Hi 72_sporto, Are these diaphragms still available for sale? Please pm or email me. Thanks.
