    Repa seat belt bolt

Does anyone know the application for this seat belt bolt? What years is was used. I have one and need 3 more. It was in my old bolt bin and happens to meet my needs. It is marked Repa on the end.

If you don't know the application how do you know you need 3 more?

That one works for my application, and I need 4, and have one.

Maybe I need to clarify. I know the application, it is a seat belt mounting bolt, I just don't know what year, or if it is used for the shoulder strap mount, or the lap belt.

Pretty sure it's a shoulder mount bolt for the belts- def for LWB but not sure of any other applications/years.

As Repa made safety equipment for many manufacturers and different configurations this is sort of a generic bolt.

I don't know the historical or political history behind how they arrived at this spec, but beginning with '68 model year all seat belt anchor points in automobiles were

SAE 7/16 fine thread, not metric..thus these bolts. Note the nylon "lock" plug. Early on, '68-'70 or so they were silver zinc, and later yellow zinc.

Someone can probably shed some further historical light on how this thread spec became standard in US and Europe.

Maybe it was a DOT mandate, so all manufactures decided to go with it. It has been only the seat belt anchor bolts that were SAE spec.

Shoulder belt and inertia reel mounts are all SAE, too from 1968 on
