Just noticed that out of Asia so ???? on quality maybe
Mark.
That rack may fit on a 911, but is not anything Porsche used. It was VW
found the same sierra madre rack at aase (after an email) and I can get the identical on for less than $500. S0, I may be going in that direction. Aase told me it is a Leitz

Mark, this is made in Bangkok, the guy specialize in VW but made this one from scratch as well as the engine/deck lid rack. There was a guy in Cali that use to make somewhat similar ones (Pedro Rack) but he's not doing business anymore (retired?). I think it actually does not look bad at all and for that price may be worth it if you don't want the Leitz or Amco version.
There is a guy selling an AMCO NOS on eBay (i think he has several) for 911$ and there is another of the Leitz version (same the one from SM above and Eric's version) but in stainless steel in the $500 price area..
IMHO, Eric's is the best looking if you want a period correct repro
