    In response to post#2. Though it is 'possible' that the front breather area may be evaporating to the atmosphere. My opinion is that it seems unlikely, as the odor is NOT the smell of passive fuel. It is quite obviously pressurized/vaporized/atomized fuel which has a different flavor than than fuel that is not under pressure. As I understand the design of the front 'breather' system, it is a passive evaporative recirculation of the fuel tank.
    The pressurized fuel would more likely be on or near the fuel pump or in the engine compartment of a '72.
