    68' 2.0 Liter Engine #907170

    Hello,

    I have a 1970 T Targa that my father and I have owned since the 80's. The car is going to be restored soon. The original engine was replaced with a 2 liter by my father shortly after he bought it. Original 2.2 matching numbers engine to the car is on a shelf in my garage. It is going to be rebuilt and put back in the car. I am wondering if anyone happens to be looking for the engine currently in the car. Serial number is 907170 which per my research is from 1966 and had Weber carbs. Just throwing it out there in case anyone is looking.

    Is that a typo? I have 908070 which is a late 66` Weber motor too.....cliff

    I stand corrected. It is a 66. I got my info from Dr Johnson's Restorer Guide to Authenticity and read it wrong. Thanks for the heads up Cliff.

    901/05 4020

    1970 911T Targa 9110110928 6837-L is on the paint tag. It was a late 69 build so the paint code reflects a 69 number which I believe is Cocoa Brown. Interior was black leather. Car was originally owned by Peter B Mills per the maintenance book.

    Steve,
    I have a '69S that came with 6837-L paint, Cocoa or Coffee Brown. Just wondering if you are going to paint your car that color when you paint it. If so, I would love to see more details on the paint you use and some pics of the finished product.

    It is going back to original paint. Lots of heavy duty metal work to be done first. My dad had outer rockers and lock posts replaced. It got new front fenders and bumpers from Porsche at the time. It now needs inner rockers, gas tank support, and the area by the rear torsion tubes replaced.

    Thanks for the info Steve. The build # helps me with a split in some 906 engines. It is always interesting to see the special order paint codes.
