    1973 911 S Engine, S/N 6330695 - 2.7L

    For Sale: 1973 911 S Engine, S/N 6330695
The engine was built to 2.7 spec and has about 8.5K miles on it. The crankcase is a genuine 1973 911 S case and is currently setup with PMO 40 carburetors and E-cams.

A leak down was performed in Feb 2017, about 1K miles ago.
    Leak down results: #1 – 5%, #2 – 4%, #3 – 4%, #4 – 4%, #5 – 4%, #6 – 4%

The engine pulls strong and runs very well. It is currently installed in a 73 911, which can be driven until the engine is pulled from the car.

Then engine includes the long block, PMO carburetors, red shroud, etc…

The heat exchangers, muffler, clutch and flywheel are not part of the sale, but can be negotiated.

Pistons and cylinders are the Mahle 2.7 RS set. Case work was done by Ollies prior to the build.

I am willing to sell it as a long block, without the PMOs, for $22K.

Looking at records from the around the time the engine was rebuilt and the odometer from when I disassembled the car last year, approximately 8,500 miles on the build. It’s out of the car now, so no new miles will be added. This is a very nice 73S engine case/2.7 built by targa74 on this forum.

This 2.7 is very peppy but I am doing a build with a 3.6L twin plug. This has required a bunch of additional work such as suspension upgrades, transmission upgrades, bigger brakes and lots of chassis stiffening/reinforcing.

If you are looking for a nice upgrade from your 2.2e, my 2.7 RS spec engine is a nice option and doesn’t require all the work I am doing to my car for the 3.6L.
