RIP siegfried rauch aka Erich Stahler /le mans

According to newspaper information, Rauch lives right next to the volunteer fire department building in a small bavarian village. There yesterday the firefighters met for a meeting. Rauch also stopped by around 8pm. His visit was supposed to last about 15 minutes - then he left again. He probably crashed down the stairs. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. This was confirmed by the police in Penzberg on Monday.

Rauch was a close friend of Steve McQueen. Both got to know each other while filming "Le Mans". McQueen was even godfather of Rauch‘s first son.
