    FS: Holding Plate, P260, 000.721.260.00

    These plates replace the NLA part:
    P260, Used for holding 901 & 914 (NOT 915) gear shafts and selector rods when adjusting shift forks.

    Material: Aluminum, 6061-T6
    Finish: Ra 12µm, Anodized, Type III (Hard)
    Weight: 584.17 grams (vs 1639.8 gms of OEM part)

    Please note that this is NOT the Porsche Master Cam Kit, P260 used in '98-'01 996 and '97-'02 Boxsters.

    The last Porsche list price before becoming NLA was $225. The price is $74.81 each.
    Shipping within the US is by USPS Priority Mail $7.20.

    I have thought about it but the 915 plate (P260A, 000 721 260 10) is still available from Porsche.
    The market may be diminishing since every shop has one and the population of determined DIYers is declining.

    Maybe... but I also think that with the surprising prices these cars are trading for, it is a lot easier today to justify the expense of a proper rebuild. Ten years ago, dropping several thousand $ to rebuild a 915 in a car that sold for $5,000, meh. Today that car could be worth $100K to $200K depending on model, etc., and $6K for a thorough rebuild of the 915 isn't so far out of line.
