    accessory / aftermarket interior trim on rocker panel

    Hello,

    who has/had the aluminum interior trim on the rocker panel? I guess its an aftermarket part....

    I have it ... and I have seen it on many other SWB cars... whats the story behind (brand/year)? Does anybody know something about it?
    My car is an US-car from 1968. It had these trims as well as an amco shift knob (like the other examples attached)

    I was always of the belief that the Ali Rocker covers were a US Dealer installed option but I may be off the mark on this.

    This is engine turned metal made by Ernie Haneline in the 50's through the 70's. It was not a factory Porsche part.

    Some very interesting 356's and 911's still wear this period after market trim...

    The ex-Otis Chandler / Bata Mataja beautiful silver '73 911S had the full complement.....

    kick/scuff protectors

    I have a set of these "kick/scuff protectors" somewhere and I believe they are "engine turned Stainless Steel"...not a very high grade of Stainless...probably 304 or similar..."Aluminium" would probably be scuffed-up in a minnitt!...
