    1967 911S -- Do You See Something Wrong With These Data Plates and Chassis Number?

    Hi,
    I found this 1967 911S for sale. It was restored in 2012 and, while there are a lot of photos available, the photos of the data plates stood out because they are mounted so poorly.

    Can any experts weigh in on this?

    The chassis number from the trunk was provided as well -- this may help in detecting a problem --

    Well, the search function is your friend . . .
    I checked the VIN on this forum and the car has history that goes back on here about 8 years. I suspected that the poorly mounted plates might mean that the chassis somehow was not the original one, but I am starting to feel like that isn't true. I'm no expert . . .

    If anybody knows any more about this one, let me know -- I like it and may go for it!

    They look okay. The front data plate is in rough shape, and probably the front panel was also. The paint plate is difficult to remove, and damage often ensues. Replacement rivets are not easily available unless you know where to look.

    Frunk in internet slang means: To behave that you're extremely drunk even when you're still not.

    Not sure if that casts any enlightenment on proceedings,, (this thread or other)

    when a car is painted, some shops will remove the front plate to paint under it. Thats what happened to mine and they scratched the plate in the process. Chris

    Here's another: "Thought delete."

    When referring to the storage compartment of a car that only has one trunk, why not call it by its proper name? Or is that not hip and cool?

    I'll concede there are instances where making up a new word perfectly fits a situation. I would like to see frunk "sharted" on once and for all.
