How much is a 901/05 Engine Worth?

How much could I reasonable expect to get from a complete (recently overhauled) 1967 901/05 engine with carbs, heat exchangers, exhaust, air filter etc.?

Basically ready to put it in a car

This comes out of a 912 I'm thinking of returning to original

    Thanks
    Henry

    Henry,

Please include the list of parts and machine work done. Pics would be extra exciting.

There's a thousand different definitions of "overhauled".

    Thanks Frank,

I still don't have the engine (or the car with me), I'm trying to get a ball park figure here before I decide to actually purchase the car...

We could assume that the compression and leak down numbers are OK

    22-25k?
I just don't believe the market bears any more than that because people want their own guy in their own backyard to do their rebuilds. Trust, warranty, and that sort of carry on.

Thanks Frank, that's what I wanted
