    PORSCHE 356 356A 356B 1600S Rebuilt Engine Long Block #84944 1959 1960 Super

Stock case with standard line bore. Crankshaft checked and cut to 10/10. NPR 86mm Pistons and cylinders. New Super Cam. 912 rods sized and balanced. 912 aluminum rocker arm assemblies rebuilt with polished shafts. Oil cooler was ultrasonically cleaned,

I bought this engine about 15 years ago because it was very close to the engine number that came in my 1959 built 1960 356B. Opted to go with a blank/blank/blank case engine instead so I never needed this one. It sat in my storage until I had it gone through last month by my friend who has built my Porsche engines for 40 years.

This engine had been rebuilt years ago, but they apparently dropped the engine or it got hit cracking the rear of the case halves shortly thereafter. My plan was to just take it apart have the case welded and put it back together (close-up of repair in last photo). When we got it apart we found that the std/std crank was right at the minimum journal size so we had it cut first under. We also put new NPR rings on the pistons even though the old rings had less than 5000 miles on them.

It has the stock fuel pump which is working. Also has the desirable 018 Bosch distributor.

It is being sold as a long block plus with these components, intakes, oil cooler, generator stand, oil filler, oil lines and sending units as shown. We have shrouds, tin, heat exchangers, carbs for sale and will include any/all of those components for a reasonable additional fee if the buyer needs them.

    $6000, no core charge.
